Your Destination Wedding Photographer: The Heart Behind The Photos
When you’re with me, perfection isn’t the point. The point in capturing your photos is that your session is intentional and true to the two of you. Our goal is all about the process of capturing your photos with authenticity. This means that if serious and serene vibes or excited and joyous feelings are your thing, then we will do that! Here’s how I make intentionality my focus as your surprise proposal capturer, engagement session documenter, and destination wedding photographer.
Why I Do What I Do: My Destination Wedding Photographer Beliefs
Really, I'm just a blind optimist. But, I claim that as one of my best characteristics! It means that I can see the beauty in quite literally anything. I’m able to come alongside you within the present moment of your life and photograph it as it unfolds.
When I first learned to be a photographer, I realized this was the means to show others the beauty that I see in life! Often couples tell me that they aren’t photogenic or comfortable in front of the camera. Most seem to have this idea that you need to look a certain way to be photographed. Others have shared that they need a specific style to feel beautiful in their photos, but none of this is true.
My favorite aspect of being an intimate wedding and destination wedding photographer is getting to show people how beautiful life is. Also, how much more beautiful life is just as you are.
Case Study: My Approach as Your Destination Wedding Photographer
While on a family vacation in Florida, I noticed two love birds on the beach lost in their own little world. He was sitting on the sand laughing so hard at the hilarious character of a woman dancing in front of him. She embodied the most joyous person as she danced and sang to the music in her head.
Walking with my husband along the shore, I could not look away from this beautiful little scene playing out. As a destination wedding photographer, I have always loved finding romance, meaning, and joy in ordinary moments. This one felt like it was straight out of a rom-com so I built up some courage and approached the couple.
I told them that they have the most sincerely happy connection and how it was so encouraging to see! Throughout our little chat, I ended up asking them if they would like to model for me the next morning at an impromptu sunrise session (since my flight was leaving at 10:00 am!). Surprisingly, they laughed and said, “Sure!”
The next morning, we ended up laughing for almost two hours together. Raul and Alina were such troopers meeting me at the crack of dawn on an amazingly windy morning. Having previously never taken professional photos together, it was so fun seeing their reactions to showing them little snippets throughout the session. The phrases “I didn't know we could look like that” and “Ah! That’s so good” were repeatedly exclaimed.
As it’s easy to see, laughter and joy are the epitome of who they are, and I absolutely loved being able to show them the beauty I saw in them. Honestly, it couldn’t have been dreamier and it was the best way to end a trip.
What You Walk Away With
My biggest goal as your destination wedding photographer is that you walk away from your session with so much confidence in who you are as a couple. I want you to experience feeling seen and flattered because the photos shed light on your relationship in the brightest and most beautiful way.
Every single thing I do with my couples is so intentional and through that they can fall back in love with not only who they are, but how they are seen.
