Peaceful Glacier National Park Elopement Adventure at Big Bend Summer Sunrise
This couple’s story starts with a promise. Before their marriage vows, Josh and Courtnee made a pact that for every national park puzzle they built together they would visit that park. After finishing the Glacier National Park puzzle, it was a no-brainer that this was their elopement location. Knowing their excitement for getting married in the park, I made sure they got the most out of their Glacier National Park elopement!
Working with a Glacier National Park Elopement Photographer
One of my most important goals in working with couples is getting personal through making that initial connection. That’s why our first step together is scheduling a call where the three of us can chat. We will talk about your love story and what you want to prioritize on the big day.
We’ll walk through the entire process leading up to your day and what to expect from the day itself! I’m able to then relay our connection into your session focusing on your overall experience. I become the biggest advocate for reflecting back what you value most in your day.
Josh and Courtnee described their relationship as adventurous, lighthearted, and cozy. I made it my goal to incorporate all of these characteristics into their Glacier National Park elopement!
What I’ll Do For You: The Elopement Planning Process
Making an elopement plan for a location you’ve never visited before is possible when you include your elopement photographer from the start of the process. Following the time taken to get to know each other, I share recommendations based upon your preferences.
I will scout locations and share, for example, where to stay when visiting Glacier National Park, accompanied by my list of favorite coffee shops and restaurants in the area. This can also include elopement activity suggestions which for these two was hiking, swimming, a great breakfast, and afternoon hammock naps. We can do it all!
This may sound like a day that’s easy to plan with minimal research, and that is exactly how I want you to feel. But, planning a Glacier National Park wedding actually involves many components:
Permits for a Glacier National Park elopement.
Reservations (with limited availability) for vehicle passes to travel the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road that cuts through the park.
Knowing the weather, where the sun will be and the crowd levels at certain times of the day/year.
Knowledge of food and gas refueling availability.
Properly preparing for a day of hiking and elevation changes.
The newlyweds wanted to explore as much as they could within the few days they had in Glacier, so they relied upon my knowledge and we started their day early!
A Glacier National Park Elopement
The mountains, the views–need I say more about Montana? Out of the national park puzzles they’ve built together, there’s a reason why Glacier National Park was at the top of their must-visit list.
Once we arrived in the park that morning, Josh and Courtnee changed into their summer wedding outfits then took a stroll to enjoy the spectacular view together. We began their Glacier National Park elopement before sunrise to skip the crowds and get beautiful, soft lighting for their elopement photography. Big Bend was chosen as their elopement destination for the rich summer green colors and mountain views.
They took time enjoying the grandeur of their private mountain elopement spot and made their commitment to one another by exchanging vows. The next stop was back down the mountain to grab breakfast at one of my favorites, West Glacier Cafe. Since they had such an early morning, some hammock naps were a happy necessity before enjoying the rest of their day.
From a puzzle and a promise, to a magical day committing them for forever, the couple’s souls, hearts and futures became one on this amazing day.
